Locanda Rosa Rosae ...a walk back in time

A walk back in time  ..."Locanda Rosa Rosae "  is a truly wonderful place to stay .Ancient mill dating from 1570  near Treviso (Italy) converted into a magic Bed&Breakfast that pours out  ancient beauty and charm .It feels like a world apart .The owners Betty and Silvio discovered this mill  and immediately realised that it had to be saved and most of all it had to be brought back to its ancient beauty  . A place " where you have never been before but already smell like homs .The meadoes ,the olives, the bricks, the ciclades . The shady porch that creaks under our place ,the refereshing well where the echo resounds .Those places are here ,waiting for you ,leaning in the sun .Already part of your desires ,future memories if you close your yes"  Via  Locanda Rosa Rosae   .

it's happens hereThis ancient mill dates back to 1570. When we discovered it, we soon felt in love with it. Even if it was simply a ruin, it kept a magic energy and unique soul. We imediately realised that it had to be saved and most of all it had to be brought back to its ancient beauty and charm. We started this “amazing” adventure, a real challenge. It took four years of hard sacrifice, work and research but, at the same time, it was also very stimulating and exciting. My husband Silvio is the real creator of this miracle. He is a “crazy”, creative architect with an extraordinary sense of beauty, harmony and originality. Silvio transformed this old mill into a beautiful Locanda, while maintaining the authenticity of the building. We restored everything keeping well in mind the mill’s history and austere character of the building. We used old and recycled materials, left walls bare to the brick, and preserved the floor and the beams untreated. The interior decoration is also very austere, sparse and minimal, although with a strong character, specially in the evening when it’s all lit by candles. Our dream was to share the peace, beauty and charme of this place with our guests, giving them a way to have their own emotions and inspirations staying here. For this reason, we created the Locanda Rosarosae. Here, we hope, every guest can feel and touch the philosophy of beauty, harmony and familiarity of our Locanda… "

Once more and again the designer Matteo Ugolini succeeds in turning a natural element into furnishing piece for lighting which absolutely strikes with its power of reminiscence. The shape it’s not new at all, but worth of it: its geometrical perfection with a new interpretation of the designer matching lace and macramé to fibreglass, which can be either painted white or quartz-grey giving as a result a unique piece of lighting. Suspended in the air, endorsed on the floor or in the middle of a meadow, Ululì-Ululà live their lives once lit up, creating warm amber tones even in the darker nights. Ululì-Ululà is a game of words summing up a small version (Ululì) and large version (Ululà) of a sphere available both with indoor + outdoor (IP65) wiring. Via ARCHIPRODUCTS

Dream home ....modern meets ancient

Dream home ....I could live there forever.

The acclaimed Italian designers Ludovica+Roberto Palomba carve a serene retreat out of a 17th century oil mill in Salento ,filling it wiht custom creatinons and their greatest hits .When the couple decided to look for vacation home ,they turned their gaze from the hectic world of Milan ,their home base ,and started h ouse hunting over 600 miles aways in the southeastern part of Italy in Salento (sometimes referred to as the high heel in Italy's boot) .
They found the house of their dreams ,and old mill that dates back to the 17th century in Sogliano Cavour,a small village in the province of Lecce .

“It was love at first sight,” says Serafini. “We are architects, and we immediately understood the potential of the place.” The couple realized that they could put their own imprint on the house but still retain its raw spirit, keeping the ancient stone floors, walls, and arches intact."
